The citizens of Adelaide / Tarntanya and Wellington / Te Whanganui-a-Tara are able to enjoy an appetiser ahead of the fast-looming FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ with the public unveiling of the tournament’s official poster. With the global launch of the official poster on Tuesday, fans in the two cities can continue to enjoy a visual representation over the coming weeks with the artworks on public display. In addition to the tournament’s official poster, nine destination posters specific to each Host City were created highlighting iconic and significant local elements. Adelaide / Tarntanya hosted an event to mark the unveiling of the official poster, which will be in place until 22 March. The outdoor gallery is situated at the stunning Festival Plaza, location for the FIFA Fan Festival in July and August with media, dignitaries and, of course, tournament mascot Tazuni in attendance for the unveiling. Hosting proceedings was Bruce Djite, the latest recruit to join the FIFA Women’s World Cup Beyond Greatness Champions programme, and the first male champion for the tournament. “I’m very proud to be able to help promote and elevate this truly iconic showpiece event across Australia,” said Djite, a former Socceroo and former all-time leading goalscorer for local A-League Men club Adelaide United.

Adelaide / Tarntanya, which boasts a proud football history, will host four group stage matches and a Round of 16 match at Hindmarsh Stadium. “The momentum for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup has been building for some time,” said Tom Rischbieth, Head of Commercial and Events, Football Australia. “But it is so exciting to see some tangible evidence of the tournament rolling out. We have an opportunity ahead of us to create the biggest moment for women’s sport in this country, and that is only a few months away.”

In New Zealand’s capital, the display will be in place until 21 March. Local fans can enjoy the Official Posters at Kumutoto on the city’s spectacular waterfront, a site shared with the upcoming FIFA Fan Festival during Australia & New Zealand 2023.
