Tokyo

It would take a lifetime to truly get to know Tokyo. It is the largest city in the world, and without a doubt, one of the most fascinating. Simultaneously traditional and futuristic, Tokyo offers an overwhelming number of options for tourists, of which the following three come highly recommended:

  • The Toyosu fish market: In addition to attending its famous fish auctions, you can lose yourself among the shops and stalls of the outer market. Toyosu Market moved from the Tsukiji Market site in October 2018, but visitors can still check out Tsukiji's outer market, which has shops and restaurants where you can enjoy many culinary delights.

  • The Shibuya scramble crossing, known all over the world: A few minutes from this recognisable landmark, you can escape the hustle and bustle in tranquil Yoyogi Park, where you can also visit Meiji Shrine, hidden away in this green oasis of the city. The eclectic Harajuku district is nearby: Takeshita Street and its surrounding areas, where the Kawaii culture of cuteness comes to life, is a must-see stop-off.

  • Akihabara: In this “electronic town”, you can find all types of products related to video games, manga and anime, admire the striking neon signs on the facades of buildings, or visit the surprising shops and cafes.
