Cultural and Historical Value: Located in the historical and cultural city centre, Theatre Square is a unique complex of an architectural heritage. The main object of the square is the-72-metre-high Memorial Stele with a golden depiction of the Greek god Neek. This is a symbol of national freedom that is seen from almost any point in the city.

The spectacular fountain complex and the building of Rostov Academic Drama Gorki Theater, an outstanding monument of Soviet architecture, embellish the site. The complicated and remarkable design of the latter reminds us of a tractor, which is a symbolic tool of Soviet economy and agriculture.

Theatre Square is a regular venue for the mass public events, entertainment and sports events.
