The square hosts the main sight of the city – historical heritage of the region – the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. It also serves as the breathtaking viewing point to the Volga river and the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, and stands as the starting point for the ancient pedestrian Bolshaya Pokrovskaya street.
The square is also surrounded by multiple museums and expo centers.
