Search for Korea 2017 volunteers set to begin

FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 Local Organising Committee (LOC) are set to begin the search for volunteers for next year's tournament.

The LOC will launch their recruitment programme on 1 November ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup's first trip to Korea Republic. Details on the volunteer programme were released through the LOC's website (www.kfa.or.kr/u20korea) on 18 October, with successful volunteers eventually being assigned to LOC headquarters and the six host cities of Incheon, Suwon, Cheonan, Daejeon, Jeonju and Jeju.

The 12 categories of the volunteer programme are Competitions Operation, Medical Services, Accreditation, Media, Marketing, Guest Management & Translation, Transportation, General Service, Spectators Seats, Environment, Traffic Control, and Airport.

LOC Chairman Chung Monggyu asked members of the public of all ages to engage in the volunteer programme, saying: “I hope the programme will leave the legacy of a new volunteer culture thanks to the tournament. The public expects the tournament to reflect the Korean fervour for football and becomes a nationwide festival, felt across the whole nation, just as the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan did.”

Interested participants can apply from 1 November to 15 December via e-mail or mail (to the LOC or host city) with the application form and required documents attached. The relevant details can be found on the host cities websites as well as the LOC website.
