FIFA FAN AWARD

When you have waited almost four decades for something, you seize its arrival with both hands. That is what fans of Peru did, when their side qualified for their first FIFA World Cup™ in 36 years by reaching Russia 2018. The tournament saw an invasion of Blanquirroja – no matter the venue. Despite the 14,000km separating their homeland from the Russian cities of Saransk, Ekaterinburg and Sochi – where Peru played their only three games at this year’s global finals – the Peruvian support travelled in their significant number.

A 40,000-strong army of colourful, vibrant and friendly support lit up the tournament, their passion and dedication an inspiration for supporters the world over. For their superb display of love for their team, they have been voted – by football fans from around the world – the winners of the 2018 FIFA Fan Award.
