FIFA has supported the KFA through the FIFA Football for Schools programme and the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS). An estimated 63,000 children have benefited from the former, which has seen 41 educators trained directly by FIFA and 2,100 footballs distributed since its launch in 2024.

The TDS, meanwhile, has launched the Al Azraq Academy for U-12 and U-13 players following 20 talent identification festivals as well as a national U-13 league. In 2026, funding has been committed to launching leagues for U-17 girls, domestic camps for U-15 and U-17 boys and nationwide talent festivals for 2,600 players. Academy technical staff have also been increased.

“I was pleased to welcome Kuwait Football Association President His Excellency Sheikh Ahmad Yousef Al-Sabah to the Home of FIFA to discuss our shared vision for developing the game and promoting its growth,” the FIFA President said.

“We talked about ongoing efforts, including the launch of new youth leagues, talent identification festivals through the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, and the positive impact of the FIFA Football for Schools programme across the nation.”
