As part of FIFA’s ongoing modernisation of the football regulatory framework, the first edition of the landmark FIFA Executive Programme in Football Agency kicks off today.

Following almost 140 applications, 24 participants from around the world will be starting the programme, which aims to provide an in-depth insight into the current regulatory, commercial and institutional aspects relating to agency matters in football. The programme’s launch follows proposals made by various agent organisations worldwide.

Taught by world-leading experts and combining solid theory, research and practical sessions, the programme will run until March 2023. It will comprise the following modules:

·      The fundamentals of football agency (13-16 September 2022, online) ·      Transfer of players (14-17 November 2022, online) ·      Making deals/winning clients (24-27 January 2023, online) ·      Other relevant topics (14-17 March 2023, in person at the Home of FIFA)

“FIFA is not only modernising and bringing more transparency to the transfer system, but also ensuring that those who are part of the football agents’ industry have the required tools to represent and protect the interests of their clients within a highly complex market. By doing so, we are acting on the feedback provided by a large number of agents across the world who are interested in raising the ethical and professional standards of their profession,” said Emilio García Silvero, FIFA’s Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.
