Denmark, Germany reach Rio 2016

Denmark and Germany booked their tickets to the 2016 Men's Olympic Football Tournament by emerging from Group A at the UEFA European U-21 Championship.

Denmark progressed by topping the pool, seeing off Serbia 2-0 in their final game to confirm qualification thanks to goals from Rasmus Falk and Viktor Fischer.

Germany made sure of their attendance at Rio 2016 thanks to a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic, with Nico Schulz scoring Die Mannschaft's crucial goal.

Tomorrow will see the last two European spots determined, with the top two places in Group B to be decided between Portugal, England, Sweden and Italy.

This could offer a chance of redemption to the Czech Republic. If England reach the semi-finals of the tournament, the two third-placed teams in Group A and B will contest a play-off for Rio 2016 on Sunday 28 June to take their place.

Note: England do not participate in the Olympics, rather the United Kingdom competes at the Summer and Winter Games, so the Three Lions do not count in the qualification rankings for Rio 2016.
