As part of a strategy to develop the game and provide guidelines for member associations, a testing protocol has been put in place for futsal surfaces under the FIFA Quality Programme.
Certification Process
The FIFA Quality Programme provides certification for pitches that are found to fully meet the requirements of the Quality Programme. Laboratory tests alone are not enough to gain this certification. In order to be certified under the FIFA Quality Programme, futsal surfaces must be installed and fulfil the performance and quality criteria established to provide the best possible playing conditions. To this end, each pitch must undergo four steps as outlined below:
