We round up the top women's leagues ahead of the international break, during which we will focus on the annual Algarve Cup, the women's Cyprus Cup and the SheBelieves Cup.
Spain: Festival of goals It was a prolific weekend in Spain, where the league's top four clubs all enjoyed victories and maintained their positions in the standings. Away at Sporting de Huelva, Atletico twice came from behind to snatch a 3-2 victory, while nearest challengers Barcelona had no such problems in Zaragoza, comfortably winning 6-0. Third-placed Valencia also asserted their dominance in a 5-0 victory away at Tacuense, and Levante stuck to the theme of Week 20 by winning 5-3 at Fundacion Albacete.
Top three: Atletico Madrid (54 points), Barcelona (50), Valencia (43)
France: Duel at the top Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain continued their duel at the top of the Division 1 Féminine; both teams have the same number of points, victories and defeats, with the Lyonnaises only ahead thanks to their superior goal difference. This weekend, Olympique Lyonnais prevailed 3-0 at third-placed Montpellier - who saw their title challenge all but disappear in the process - while PSG also took all three points, but had to do it the hard way. In 240 seconds of madness between the 62nd and 66th minutes, Spain's Irene Paredes gave the Parisians the lead against Juvisy, then Katoto doubled it, before Gaetane Thiney cut the deficit to 2-1, which ended up the final score.
Top three: Paris Saint-Germain (42), Olympique Lyonnais (42), Montpellier (34)
Germany: Potsdam stumble, Wolfsburg take advantage Wolfsburg took advantage of a slip-up by Turbine Potsdam, who could only draw 1-1 away at FFC Frankfurt, to provisionally move top of the Frauen Bundesliga (Potsdam still have one game in hand.) And they did it in style, beating Bayer Leverkusen 8-1 in a match that saw seven different goalscorers, with only Alexandra Popp netting twice. Bayern also got the job done, winning 2-1 at USV Jena thanks to a double from Vivianne Miedema to put pressure on the leading duo.
Top three: Wolfsburg (32), Turbine Potsdam (31), Bayern Munich (31)
Other Leagues Sporting Club made the most of home advantage to inflict a 1-0 defeat on Braga to open up a three-point lead over their pursuers at the top of the Portuguese league.
