Wellington Stadium

Wellington Stadium is unarguably the home of New Zealand football in the modern era. Home ground to the nation’s only professional club, Wellington Phoenix, the stadium most memorably was the scene of the All Whites drought-breaking qualification for the FIFA World Cup. The stadium also saw action in the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2015 and FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2008. Opened in 2000, it has hosted numerous major cricket and rugby matches. A short walk from Wellington’s city centre, the venue is known affectionately as “The Cake-Tin” due its distinctive shape.

Gross capacity: 39,000
