Sydney Football Stadium

Completely rebuilt in time for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Sydney Football Stadium originally opened in 1988 and has been a celebrated venue for men’s and women’s football for more than three decades. The venue has hosted numerous major concerts and matches across various sports. Regular home to Sydney FC, the stadium hosted one of the Socceroos’ greatest FIFA World Cup qualifiers, a 1993 intercontinental play-off against Diego Maradona’s Argentina, played in front of a then-record crowd for the venue (43,967). The stadium also hosted the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament final at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, with Norway defeating USA to win the gold medal.
