Hussein El Shahat

Hussein El Shahat belongs to a group of players who have forced their way on to Hector Cuper's radar in the run-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, the attacking midfielder making his Egypt debut as a substitute in the March friendly against Greece.

El Shahat started his career with Egyptian side Eastern Company before picking up valuable top-flight experience at Misr El Makkasa. More recently, he has been plying his trade in the United Arab Emirates with Al Ain. He did not feature during the qualifiers for Russia 2018, but he is now relishing the chance to contribute, even as a substitute, as the Pharaohs vie to reach the knockout phase for the first time in their history.
