Harry, Lucky and the Granq score big
Two costly strikers and one cheap defender excelled on Day 5
Nine Belgians scored five-plus points
Falcao, Lewandowski, Mane and Rodriguez are among the Day 6 captain options
Not many people picked Andreas Granqvist (€5m), but the 33-year-old Sweden centre-back rewarded the few that did with a Day 5-high of 12 points in the McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ Fantasy.
He was followed by brace-baggers Harry Kane (€11m) and Romelu Lukaku (€10m), who each got ten points, and Ferjani Sassi (€5m), a midfielder who cost peanuts and delivered seven points. Lukaku was one of nine Belgium players to score five-plus points, with Kevin De Bruyne (€10m), Eden Hazard (€10m) and Dries Mertens (€9m) paying off a chunk of their cost.
Highest-scoring players: Cristiano Ronaldo (16 points), Denis Cheryshev (13), Alexsandr Golovin (13), Jose Giminez (12), Andreas Granqvist (12) Aleksandar Kolarov (12), Diego Costa (10), Harry Kane (10), Romelu Lukaku (10).
Change your captain Day 6 is the final day in Round 1, so it’s your last chance to change your captain. If you have Cristiano Ronaldo or Andreas Granqvist in your armband, you probably don’t want to risk making a change. But if your skipper didn’t do as well as planned, you probably want to select a new one before the Day 6 deadline (14:00 CET on Tuesday). Whoever is your captain at that deadline will score double points for you in Round 1.
Make substitutions If a player in your starting XI didn’t perform well, you can substitute him out for a player on your bench who hasn’t yet played. However, if you want to bring in James Rodriguez for Jesse Lingard, you have up until the kick-off of the first game of the day (14:00 CET on Tuesday).
