France and Senegal target Round of 16 berth with a second consecutive win
After securing an historic first point in a U-20 World Cup, Vietnam go in search of first-ever goal
Having narrowly avoided defeat against Ecuador, USA look to rally against Senegal
MATCHDAY PREVIEW – In their first match in Group E, France swept aside Honduras in style with a performance befitting of a European champion. With Vietnam next to face them, France will be aiming to showcase their impressive firepower and ensure progression to the knockout stage. However, they would be wise not to underestimate their Asian opponents, who left a strong impression in their maiden match on the world stage. Elsewhere in Group E, New Zealand will be determined to take something from their game against Honduras to keep their hopes of progressing from the group looking healthy.
Over in Incheon, USA will face Senegal in their second fixture. In their opening match against Ecuador, the Stars and Stripes conceded two goals early on but fought back to draw 3-3 thanks to a dramatic finale in stoppage time. For their part, Senegal secured an opening win against Saudi Arabia with two goals early in the first half, so USA will be anxious to keep things tight in the opening stages this time and avoid giving another opponent a head start.
