The Russian national team landed at Saint Petersburg Airport yesterday evening ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 Opening Match against New Zealand on Saturday.
All countries competing at the Tournament of Champions have now arrived at the Host Cities where their first matches in the group stage are taking place.
Stanislav Cherchesov’s squad also held an open training session for fans and media before setting off yesterday. More than 4,000 spectators were in the stands for the workout and created an atmosphere befitting a competitive fixture, urging on the players and responding to their every move, especially when goals were scored.
