FIFA and the Local Organising Committee announced today that leading Qatari telecommunications company Ooredoo has become a National Supporter of the FIFA Club World Cup 2019™ presented by Alibaba Cloud.

A community-focused company, Ooredoo is guided by its vision of enriching people’s digital lives and its belief that it can stimulate human growth by leveraging communications to help people achieve their full potential. As a National Supporter, Ooredoo will provide fixed-line telecommunications services with world-class technology at the stadiums to enhance the spectator experience and ensure everyone stays connected, so match-goers can enjoy fast, reliable internet and top-quality voice calling.

Waleed Al Sayed, the Chief Executive Officer at Ooredoo Qatar, said of the event and sponsorship: “We are beyond proud to be working with FIFA to bring this incredible sporting event to Doha, consolidating yet again Qatar’s prominent position on the world sporting stage. Promoting sport and a healthy, active lifestyle is a key priority for us as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy – as is supporting our local community – and teaming up with FIFA for this prestigious event is an honour for Ooredoo. We look forward to seeing some fantastic football from some of the world’s top players, and wish all the teams the best of luck.”
