The Best finalists: 1 day to go
There is just one day left until we reveal the final nominees for a host of The Best FIFA Football Awards, with players and coaches across the globe awaiting news of the finalists.
Voting by four of football's key stakeholders, will see those initial shortlists for the main individual awards (men's and women's player and coach) trimmed from 56 candidates to just 12. Meanwhile, the final trios for the FIFA Fan Award and the inaugural The Best Men's Goalkeeper will be unveiled on Friday, as will the ten-goal shortlist for the FIFA Puskás Award - with voting then open to the public for the Fan Award and the Puskás Award.
1 There can only be one winner for eight of the nine awards (excluding the FIFA FIFPro World11) that will be presented at the London Palladium on 23 October. On that much anticipated evening, singular winners of the following awards will be revealed: The Best FIFA Men's Player, The Best FIFA Women's Player, The Best FIFA Men's Coach, The Best FIFA Women's Coach, The Best FIFA Goalkeeper, the FIFA Puskás Award (for the best goal scored between the period from 1 October 2016 to 2 July 2017), The FIFA Fan Award and The FIFA Fair Play Award.
All nominees will be revealed across FIFA’s social media platforms, so make sure you’re following @FIFAcom, tracking the hashtags #TheBest and #Puskas, with the latest pictures and news also available on The Best FIFA Football Awards Facebook page and our Instagram account.
