Jeonju World Cup Stadium

The Jeonju World Cup Stadium was completed in 2001. The hapjukseon, a traditional Korean handheld fan, is not only a symbol of Jeonju, but also the inspiration for the stadium’s roof design. This arena was built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™ and has a capacity of 41,785 spectators. It is currently home to K-League giants Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC and is known informally as “Fort Jeonju.”
