Andrei Gurev has done it again. The Russian crowned his second 3,000-kilometre trip from Nizhny Novgorod to Zurich with another tournament win.
Having already emerged victorious from one of the six preliminary competitions, the 19-year-old won the FIFA World Football Museum’s Live Qualification Tournament on Monday 5 June 2017 to secure a coveted wildcard place at the European Regional Qualifiers of the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2017 will be held in Munich from 9-15 June.
"Naturally I’m now hoping to qualify for the Grand Final in London too, as that would be a big dream come true for me," Gurev explained immediately after his 3-1 final victory over Swiss rival Bruno Bardelas.
The young Russian’s triumph crowned a spectacular evening of top-quality matches at the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich. An international group of eight top EA SPORTS™ FIFA 17 gamers from three different countries competed for a ticket to the European qualifying tournament: Swiss representatives Luca Boller, Bruno Bardelas, Luigji Pepaj, Julian Ulrich and Sandro Poschinger, Russian competitors Andrei Gurev and Anton Klenov and Portuguese participant Jose Soares. Well known Swiss TV presenter Miriam Rickli guided players and fans through the event.
Six preliminary rounds had already been held at the new home of football history to determine the finalists. Two further competitors secured the last two wildcards for the Museum’s Final Live Tournament at the Super Sunday competition organised by Gameturnier.ch.
"Congratulations to Andrei!” said runner-up Bardelas. "I can’t wait to see how he’ll fare on the road to London after winning such a strong series of tournaments."
