FIFA sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Al Kass photographer Khaled Al Mesalam who passed away during the FIFA World Cup in Doha. Khaled had previously covered the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2011, the FIFA Club World Cup Doha 2020 and the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 prior to this year's final tournament, before his untimely death at home on his 44th birthday. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and all the FIFA staff send their deepest sympathies to Khaled’s family and friends, and to his colleagues at Al Kass at this difficult time. Book of condolences for three media representatives who passed away during the FIFA World Cup - Khaled Al Mesalam, Roger Pearce and Grant Wahl - are available at the media centre at Lusail Stadium and Al-Bayt Stadium for the remaining matches of the tournament for colleagues to submit their personal messages.
