Drama in Madrid, Bayern advance
Real Madrid score a late penalty to defeat Juventus
Holders reach semis, despite spirited Juventus comeback
Bayern Munich reach last four after home draw with Sevilla
Bayern Munich hosted Sevilla, while holders Real Madrid went up against last year's finalists Juventus in Wednesday's quarter-final, second legs, in the UEFA Champions League.
On a night of high drama at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid needed a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty deep into second-half stoppage time to get past Juventus 4-3 on aggregate, despite losing the second leg 3-1. A brace from Mario Mandzukic and a Blaise Matuidi strike saw the Italian giants erase a three-goal aggregate deficit before Ronaldo dramatically secured the holders' spot in the semi-finals.
In Bavaria, Bayern Munich did enough to advance to Friday's draw for the last four after claiming a 0-0 result at home to Sevilla. The newly-crowned German Bundesliga champions made their first-leg win in Spain count, as they progressed 2-1 on aggregate.
