Discover Milan

Milan has for centuries been known as one the creative cradles of the globe. Steeped in history as the go-to destination for artists of all trades, one of the world’s finest imaginative minds - that of Leonardo da Vinci - was forged in the city.

Da Vinci’s masterpiece, The Last Supper, is one of the most widely-renowned tourist draws in Milano, but the city boasts innumerable other attractions for visitors, including the imposing Il Duomo (the Cathedral of Santa Maria Nascente), Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Castello Sforzesco and the most prestigious opera house on the planet – the Teatro alla Scala, which will host The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019.

A general view of the San Siro stadium

When it comes to football, the Milanese are mad for the beautiful game, with the sacred San Siro home to both AC Milan and Internazionale. The two fierce rivals have won the European Cup / Champions League ten times between them and claimed Italy’s domestic Serie A title a remarkable 18 times each. The San Siro itself has not only seen some of the finest players in the world wear the Rossoneri and Nerazzuri – Ronaldo, Andrea Pirlo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hernan Crespo have featured for both sides – the stadium has hosted FIFA World Cup™ games at both the 1934 and 1990 editions.

Whether it is high fashion, beautiful historical architecture or a game of football, Milan undoubtedly offers one of the best cultural experiences on the planet.
