Brazil, Venezuela, Paraguay heading to Jordan

Brazil, Venezuela and Paraguay have secured South America's three spots at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Jordan 2016, finishing as the top three sides at the South American U-17 Women's Championship.

Venezuela will arrive in Asia as continental champions after tournament top-scorer Deyna Castellanos saw them edge Brazil 1-0 in the final game, with the forward hitting her 12th goal. They book their spot after defeating Paraguay 6-2. Yerliane Moreno scored a brace, Castellanos scored a hat-trick and Jeismar Cabeza score one goal for the Vinotinto. Goals for Paraguay came from Dahiana Bogarin and Limpia Fretes.

Brazil had secured the first spot by defeating Colombia 2-0 in the second game of the final group stage in Venezuela. The Brazilians saw off the Colombians at the Estadio Metropolitano de Futbol de Lara thanks to goals from Kerolin Ferraz and Nycole Silva.

The win saw A Seleção move on to an unassailable six points in the final group stage and secure their safe passage to Jordan. Brazil return to the U-17 Women's World Cup after missing out at Costa Rica 2014. They were, however, present at the first three editions, from 2008 to 2012.

The Paraguayans bounced back from the defeat, beating Colombia 2-1, snatching the final ticket to the world finals, which kicks off on 30 September. Jessica Martinez was the hero, scoring both goals with a first-half double, seeing them return to the competition for a third occasion - having featured in 2008 and 2014.
