The Team Base Camps (TBCs) for all 32 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ participants have now been confirmed after Haiti, Panama and Portugal settled on their locations. These three FIFA Women’s World Cup debutants, who prevailed in February’s Play-off Tournament to claim the last remaining spots at the global showpiece, follow their 29 fellow hopefuls in selecting a Team Base Camp. The TBC concept is being introduced at the Women’s World Cup for the first time in 2023, with teams settling in ‘home away from home’ that includes a training site and accommodation.

Haiti’s will be in Perth/Boorloo, the capital of Western Australia, which is already playing host to Group D rivals Denmark. Panama, meanwhile, have become the second side – after China PR – to base themselves in the South Australian capital of Adelaide/Tarntanya. As for Portugal, they are returning to Aotearoa New Zealand – the country in which they secured qualification – having become the eighth team to select Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau as their base. The others include reigning champions USA, alongside whom Portugal have been drawn in Group E. The placement of these latest TBCs also ensures a neat symmetry, with 16 of the camps now situated in Australia and the other 16 in Aotearoa New Zealand.

In addition to the TBCs, there are Venue Specific Team Hotels and Venue Specific Training Sites aligned to the ten match venues. These will primarily be used on the day before match days. There will also be a Referees Base Camp at Sydney Olympic Park in Sydney/Gadigal. Australia & New Zealand 2023 will be the first FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted, the first to be held in the Southern Hemisphere and the first with 32 teams – up from 24 in 2019.
