Carole Samaha and Hussein Salman release 'Jordan our Playground’

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 has announced the launch of the tournament’s official song entitled ‘Jordan our Playground’.

“I’m confident that many football fans have been eagerly awaiting the launch of this song, which is bound to add a wonderful rhythm to the games in Jordan,” said LOC CEO, Samar Nassar, who believes that the song illustrates the Jordanian people’s pride in hosting this tournament on their home turf.

The song brought together Lebanese singer and superstar, Carole Samaha, and popular Jordanian artist, Hussein Salman. Written by Omar Sari, the song’s rousing lyrics convey Jordan’s passion for football to the world. The song promises to create an electric and inspiring atmosphere as the future stars of Women's football take to the pitch from 30 September to 21 October.

The Lebanese singer expressed her happiness with the song and her overwhelming excitement in the lead-up to her performance. “I’m looking forward to performing at the opening ceremony with Hussein Salman and to delivering a song that will hopefully live up to the expectations of both audiences and football fans across Jordan and the Arab World,” she said.

Local star Salman reciprocated his co-performer's excitement. “The song expresses the joy of the Jordanian and Arab people at hosting this world-class tournament, as demonstrated by its lyrics, which call on the whole world to unite with us in Jordan, our playground,” he said.

The official song will be performed by Samaha and Salman at the opening ceremony on 30 September at the Amman International Stadium where the hosts will kick off their campaign against Spain.
