FIFA President meets the Captains Regent
Mr Infantino also held fruitful discussions with FSGC president, Marco Tura
FIFA recently helped San Marino arrange a friendly against non-European opposition
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has made a visit to San Marino, where he was welcomed by the Heads of State, the Captains Regent Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli, and met Sammarinese Football Association (FSGC) President Marco Tura, to discuss matters related to football development and women’s football. "Despite a very busy schedule, he managed to find a way to come and meet us and the Captains Regent,” said Marco Tura.
“This demonstrates once again the great friendship between San Marino and the FIFA President. At the FSGC, we have always assured him of our support, ever since he was UEFA General Secretary, and we will continue to do so.” Earlier in September, FIFA were able to help San Marino play only their second-ever match against non-European opposition when they hosted the Seychelles in a friendly at the Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle – a match which ended in a 0-0 draw. The FSGC has committed to using FIFA Forward funds to reconstructing the Acquaviva stadium, including the dressing-rooms and hospitality areas, and to the construction of a futsal arena with a capacity of 1,000 seats.
