FIFA President Gianni Infantino has met with Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) Acting President Ednaldo Rodrigues in Abu Dhabi with impactful projects for football development on the agenda as well as the continued evolution of a range of women’s and youth competitions.

Mr Rodrigues was joined by CBF Vice Presidents Fernando Sarney – one of CONMEBOL’s representatives on the FIFA Council – Marcus Vicente and the former Seleçao forward Bebeto at the meeting, where the FIFA President summarised ideas for national team and club competitions that will be key to football’s advancement.

Mr Infantino was also thanked for FIFA’s support of a range of CBF projects, designed to increase participation opportunities and raise footballing standards across Brazil. FIFA support in the implementation of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014™ Legacy Fund was also referenced, which is intended to ensure that the staging of the tournament leaves a significant footprint in areas and regions of Brazil which didn’t host FIFA World Cup matches.

The Brazilian delegation will remain in the United Arab Emirates to witness SE Palmeiras in their bid to become the fourth club from the country to win the FIFA Club World Cup, when they take on Chelsea FC in Saturday’s final.
