Gianni Infantino attended the 2022 Concacaf W Championship final in Monterrey on Monday night, watching the game alongside FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President Victor Montagliani. USA beat Canada 1-0 in front of a 17,000 crowd at the Estadio BBVA to qualify for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Paris as well as the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup. Canada will face third-placed Jamaica in a play-off next year to decide Concacaf's second berth at the Olympics. Both finalists had already qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand ™ alongside Jamaica and Costa Rica by reaching the semi-finals. Eight teams took part in the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, the eleventh edition of the tournament, which was held in two stadiums in the metropolitan region of Monterrey. It was a ninth title for USA with Canada having won two.
