In the latest episode of Living Football, we start with the growing implementation of the 'Football for Schools' programme. In May alone, there were launches in Guam, Guyana and Puerto Rico, as well as a workshop in Djibouti. We also hear from legendary coach Pia Sundhage, and USA U-20 Women's Head Coach Tracey Kevins about the FIFA Coach Mentorship Programme. 20 elite coaches working in women's football will mentor 20 up-and-coming female coaches over the next 18 months. We travel next to Australia, for a recap of a recent FIFA Coach Educator's workshop with an enhanced level of inclusivity for female coaches. Football Australia ensured 50% female participation, with the nation also seeking to reach player participation gender parity by 2027. That goal is part of the legacy plan for Australia who, along with New Zealand, are preparing to welcome the world for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup™. We finish by learning the fate of 2,000 footballs! Members of FIFA's fan movement, together with the FIFA Foundation, identified a number of NGOs, ensuring the balls due to be used at FIFA tournaments in 2020 - postponed due to COVID-19 - have been donated to good homes.
