The FIFA Foundation is financing an educational initiative called the Digital Education Programme (DEP), which provides knowledge, mentoring, training, and digital resources to public primary schools. Its aim is to help pupils explore and develop essential life skills through a hands-on approach that combines football and technology.
Bhutan is the fourth country to implement this programme, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) and the Bhutan Football Federation (BFF). The programme integrates creative coding, physical computing, and educational robotics through a football-themed narrative designed to strengthen problem-solving, computational thinking, and learner agency across the country.
Over the next three years, the DEP aims to reach more than 400 schools, benefiting up to 77,000 students from Grades I to VI through teacher training, the provision of didactic resources, and the use of a variety of digital tools to support the implementation of school-based robotics and technology projects.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) outlines the FIFA Foundation’s requirements for selecting suppliers responsible for providing the technological equipment—such as robotics kits and other key components—needed to implement the programme.
The FIFA Foundation is an independent foundation established under Articles 80 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code (SCC). In line with Article 2 of its Charter, the Foundation works to promote social change worldwide by supporting programmes, initiatives, projects, and organizations that use football as a tool for social development.
